Wider School Life
At Armadale Primary School our pupils are involved in various committees and groups working to improve the school, our community and our environment.
Enterprise Committee
Enterprise is a vehicle in which pupils learn skills for learning, life and work. Skills pupils have learned are given a real life context to use them and a relevant way to practice and perfect these skills, which will stay with pupils for life.
The Enterprise Committee is made up of one or two pupils from each class. They manage whole school projects, however, all pupils in the school are involved in the projects.

Eco Schools
Armadale Primary is very proud to announce that we retained our Green Flag status at the end of the last school year, confirming that we are a practising Eco School. This is a great achievement and reflects all the hard work the Eco Committee and indeed all pupils and staff across the school have put in. The Assessor who visited the school made no recommendations for improvement and commented on how knowledgeable and confident the children were in talking her through the various projects that were undertaken.
Special mention was given to our new outdoor Story Circles and Eco greenhouse made from recycled plastic bottles , also our bottle top art in the playground , which the assessor loved! A huge thanks to the adults who volunteered their time to help with the building of said greenhouse. The school hopes to develop the garden and greenhouse further this year to allow pupils outside to grow some produce. Anybody willing to help- especially successful gardeners!-would be made most welcome.

All pupils at Armadale Primary are involved in a committee or group offering the chance to have their voices heard and to be part of the wider development of the school. The groups meet at least once a term on 'Responsibility Friday', although some groups meet more often if needed, and offers pupils the opportunity to work with pupils from different classes across the school.
